Originally from Washington, D.C., Dr. Vendetta Dozier-Brown has been an educator for over 35 years. She began her teaching career in Michigan, and has been a classroom teacher, instructional coach, principal, college professor, and higher education administrator. She received her B.S. in Epidemiology and Environmental Health from George Washington University, M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Irvine.
Dr. Dozier-Brown deems it a distinct honor and privilege to have been selected as Principal of Sacramento Valley Charter School, and is committed to ensuring that all scholars learn, grow, thrive and excel in an environment where they will attain their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally. She sees parents, teachers, staff, and members of the SVCS educational community as vital partners in this process. Dr. Dozier-Brown has trained aspiring teachers and school leaders in California’s Teacher and Administrator Credentialing programs for 9 years, and continues to mentor and coach SVCS teachers and instructional support staff in research-based best instructional practices. Her goal is to assist and support those under her leadership in their own professional growth and development. Dr. Dozier-Brown resides with her family in the Sacramento area, and is proud to make Sacramento Valley Charter School her home! |
