Engagement of Parents, Students, Teachers, Administrators, and the Community (LCAP) Requirements
The Stakeholder engagement is the LCAP’s first section. Putting it first reflects the significant role that engagement of parents, students, educators, administrators, and the community plays to support student performance. The type of stakeholder engagement promoted by the LCFF and the LCAP is not the “check the box” or “sign in list” variety. Rather, there is an expectation of authentic engagement that leads to a multi-faceted and communitywide effort to support a productive, student-oriented learning community.
SCHOOL PICTURES
Life touch will once again photograph school pictures on TBD. All students are to wear uniforms and pre-pay for pictures. Next week, order forms will be sent home with your scholar. Envelopes are to be returned the day of pictures. All scholars should wear their best smile and represent our school well. The penguins in the picture are ready to take their picture – standing tall, nice and neat!

FOR PARENTS
SVCS SCHOOL HOURS
School begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:10.
On the first day of school, all students will meet their teachers in the parking lot of the new building on Sellers Way.
All students MUST be picked-up and dropped off on the front of the "Building A” on Sellers Way.
We will use the circle drive on the side of the school for pick up to avoid traffic jams. Please enter on Sellers Way and immediately drop off your child, DO NOT park in the circle drive. When you pick-up or drop-off your student move to the left and exit slowly as there may be others walking through the parking lot. Please DO NOT use the parking lot to pick your students. If you have school business to take care of you may park in the parking lot before, during and after school. Otherwise exit immediately to allow others to pick up their student(s). We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and look forward to a safe school year.

Attendance News
It is very important that students have regular attendance. The more time students spend on their studies the more successful they will be. If your child misses school you are required to clear the absence with our attendance office within three days of the absence or the absence will be marked as unexcused. You may contact our attendance office 916 596-6422.
Parent Involvement
Parents are encouraged to visit the school and observe your student at any time. We have several committees and we encourage your participation. Committees include, Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) committee, and English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) for our English Language learners. Parent committees help guide the school with the implementation of our accountability plan and our school goals. For more information please contact the office at 916 596-6422 or visit our webpage at www.sacvalleycharter.org (some pages are still under construction). Parent committees will begin in September, 2014.
